Nestled in the far western reaches of the Yakima Valley AVA, within the Yakama Indian Reservation, Red Willow Vineyard stands as a testament to pioneering spirit and a deep connection to the land. Founded in 1971 by the Stephenson family, and later developed by Mike Sauer, this iconic vineyard is one of Washington's oldest, marked by its steep hillsides and unique, ancient soils. The land, shaped by the Missoula floods, boasts a terroir unlike any other, contributing to the exceptional quality of its grapes. Red Willow has played a pivotal role in Washington's wine history, introducing varieties like Cabernet Franc and Syrah, and fostering a spirit of experimentation.
